er að leggja okkar lið gegn sívaxandi kvíða, depurð og þunglyndi barna og ungmenna, með að kynna skemmtilega leiki, verkefni og fræðslu, til að auka hamingju, efla innri styrk og vellíðan.​

Vaxandi andleg vanlíðan hjá unga fólkinu okkar.

Samkvæmt spá Alþjóðaheilbrigðismálastofnunarinnar (WHO) er talið að geðsjúkdómar verði eitt alvarlegasta heilbrigðisvandamál heimsins á komandi árum og geðlægð/þunglyndi (e. depressive disorder), verði megin orsök þess. Ísland er þar engin undantekning. 

Á síðustu árum hefur skilningur aukist á eðli þeirra víðtæku áhrifa sem andleg veikindi hafa á líkamsstarfsemi einstaklingsins og lífsgæði hans. Með aukinni þekkingu á eðli mannshugans hafa vísindamenn í auknum mæli rannsakað meðferðir sem byggjast á öðru en lyfjagjöf og hefðbundinni sálfræðimeðferð eins og hugrækt.

Hugmyndafræðin sem leikirnir byggjast á eru sóttir í fræði sem byggja á rannsóknum og reynslu. Eins og núvitund, jákvæða sálfræði, sálgæslufræði, kennslurfræði og fl. 

Þó svo leikirnir séu ætlaðir börnum á ólíkum aldri á ýmsum tímum lífs þeirra þá hafa þeir jákvæð áhrif á alla líka þá fullorðnu sem hafa gott af því að vekja upp barnið innra með sér og leika. 

Mikilvægt er að foreldrar, forráðafólk eða fagfólk hjálpi þeim að velja leikina, útskýra þá, og leika með. En leikirnir eru ólíkir og hafa ólík áhrif og er  bæði er hægt að leika í einrúmi og hópum. 

Munum að þetta er ekki meðferð á neinn hátt heldur leikir sem hafa bæði skemmtanagildi og eru fræðandi.
